How long do I have to wear ClearCorrect Braces?coral springs fl dental mouth guards

ClearCorrect aligners represent a highly successful innovation in dentistry to straighten teeth without making the treatment very obvious. Unlike traditional metal braces that are conspicuous and visible from outside, ClearCorrect aligners are much more under-stated and mostly invisible from the outside.

ClearCorrect treatment is designed to straighten teeth using a series of clear, custom-made, removable aligners that gradually move the teeth into their desired position. Experienced cosmetic dentist, Dr. Rob Strain, provides ClearCorrect braces through his practice Studio Dentistry. Dr. Strain receives patients from Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, and surrounding areas at his dental office.

Treatment Duration and Process

ClearCorrect aligner treatment may usually last from one to two years. The precise period of duration will depend on the extent of complexity of the patient’s condition and how diligently the patient adheres to the instructions of the cosmetic dentist during the course of treatment.

ClearCorrect treatment process begins with the dentist preparing images, X-rays, and impressions of the patient’s teeth. These dental records, along with the dentist’s prescription for ClearCorrect aligners are sent to the manufacturer’s laboratory. An exact 3-D model of the teeth is fabricated in the lab. The ClearCorrect treatment team then maps out a detailed treatment plan involving gradual realignment of teeth.

Patient is provided access to a computerized representation of their teeth before and after treatment following the treatment planning process. If the patient has any concerns with this representation, it is possible to make adjustments even before the actual treatment begins. Advanced digital mapping and molding technologies are used to create custom aligners with high precision.

How it Works

Studio Dentistry is a premier dental office providing ClearCorrect braces to patients in Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, and nearby locations. The ClearCorrect procedure involves four phases of aligner therapy. A new set of aligners is required to be worn for a three-week period in each phase. The time gap between the phases allows for adjustments and flexibility.

Throughout the duration of ClearCorrect treatment, the patient must wear the aligners all the time, except when eating and drinking, or while brushing and flossing. Since the aligners are hardly noticeable, and offer gentle comfort, the patient can go through the treatment period smoothly, and without any or too much impact on their everyday routine.

Results will start becoming noticeable with the passage of months as the teeth begin to adjust and align slowly to the desired smile. During the treatment period, the patient is required to visit the dentist for period monitoring and evaluation of progress. The next set of aligners is provided on each visit, and the cycle continues until the treatment is completed.

Treatment Options

Three treatment options are available to patients who choose ClearCorrect aligners. The first is the “Unlimited” option where the patient is provided with as many aligners as they may need during the course of treatment. “Limited 12” and “Limited 6” are options in which the patients are provided with 12 and 6 sets of aligners respectively. Patients can discuss the most appropriate treatment avenue to take with their dentist.

Can I Get Clear Braces?

Clear Braces | Clear Aligners | ClearCorrect | Rancho Mirage | Palm Desert CAMany kids and adults suffer from misaligned, crooked, or overcrowded, which can adversely affect their bite as well as their smile. Traditional metal braces have been available for many decades as a proven and effective dentistry solution to this problem. However, many patients are uncomfortable with the idea of wearing conspicuous metal braces that compromise their look and smile during the period of treatment.

Clear braces or clear aligners are an excellent way to avoid metal braces, and yet achieve the same results. Most people are suitable candidates for clear braces, and in fact, thousands of people seek this treatment from a cosmetic dentist every year and benefit from this advanced orthodontic technology. Studio Dentistry, led by Dr. Rob Strain, is a leading dental office providing ‘ClearCorrect’ clear braces to patients in Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, and surrounding areas.

What are ClearCorrect Braces?

ClearCorrect are clear aligners that are designed to straighten teeth as an alternative to traditional metal braces. These aligners are aesthetically better because they are largely invisible from outside, and the patient’s smile is not affected. Secondly, the comfort level with ClearCorrect may be higher because they are made of clear plastic, which is softer on the gum tissue as compared to metal brackets and wires.

ClearCorrect aligners are removable, which makes them a more convenient and hygienic option as they can be removed while eating, drinking or cleaning teeth. A cosmetic dentist may recommend ClearCorrect aligners to candidates who have a need to straighten their teeth and improve their smile, but are reluctant to choose traditional metal braces. Studio Dentistry is a state of the art dental office providing ClearCorrect to patients in Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, and nearby locations.

Right Candidates

ClearCorrect aligners are available to treat both teenagers and adults. Children who may not be having all of their molars and senior citizens with more complicated dental conditions may also make suitable candidates for ClearCorrect after a consultation with a cosmetic dentist. Adults are usually more reluctant to choose traditional metal braces, and may benefit from this alternative.

The following orthodontic conditions are usually treated very effectively with ClearCorrect:

  • Crowded teeth
  • Spacing between teeth
  • Overbites
  • Underbites
  • Crooked or turned (rotated) teeth

A few specific cases of misalignment or complex bite problems may not be best treated with clear aligners. In such cases, the dentist may recommend traditional braces. However, in general, patients can achieve better aesthetics and comfort with clear, removable, comfortable ClearCorrect aligners. These aligners can be custom fitted to the teeth to provide an irritation-free treatment and with almost no adjustment discomfort involved.

Treatment Duration

ClearCorrect aligners may have to be worn for about one to two years in most cases, depending on the complexity of the condition and how diligently the patient wears the aligners and follows the dentist’s instructions. The treatment duration is very similar to that of traditional metal braces. Patients should assess their aesthetic needs and goals, and evaluate all orthodontic options carefully before making a final choice.

Types of Braces

Braces are one of the most effective solutions available in dentistry to straighten or align the teeth and improve a patient’s bite as well as smile. Traditionally, orthodontic braces involve metal brackets that are bonded to the teeth, and arch wires that run through the brackets. The arch wires are designed to guide each tooth to its desired position.

Due to advancements in cosmetic dentistry, an innovative range of braces is available today. Studio dentistry, led by experienced cosmetic dentist Dr. Rob Strain, is a premier dental office providing dental braces and other treatments. Dr. Strain receives patients from Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, and surrounding areas.

Types of Braces

In addition to traditional metal braces, the other popular types of dental braces available today include clear plastic braces and ceramic braces. Traditional braces are the most common types of braces made of stainless steel, which is a practical material and produces desirable outcomes. However, patients seeking more aesthetically appealing cosmetic dentistry options may choose clear plastic or ceramic braces.

Ceramic or “Tooth Colored” Braces

Ceramic braces make use of less conspicuous, tooth colored brackets for patients who are keen to choose more aesthetic options. The translucence of ceramic brackets allows them to blend in with the patient’s natural tooth shade. As a result, the smile does not appear awkward or ‘metallic’ during the treatment period.

Furthermore, ceramic braces are resilient and do not become discolored or stained over a prolonged treatment period. The dentist will determine whether a patient is a wonderful or suitable candidate before recommending these braces.

Clear Correct Case Samples

Clear Correct uses a series of clear trays to move teeth, primarily to close spaces or to eliminate overcrowding.

Clear Plastic Invisable Braces

Clear plastic braces have become highly popular in recent years. Studio Dentistry is a state of the art dental office providing clear braces and other cutting edge procedures to patients in Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, and nearby locations. These braces are nearly invisible from outside, and do not compromise the oral aesthetics during the treatment phase.

Clear plastic aligners can be removed while eating or drinking, and while cleaning the teeth. This allows for greater convenience and better hygiene. These braces are also softer on the gum tissue, and do not make the patient uncomfortable.

Traditional Metal Braces

These braces are still very much in use and widely chosen by patients in all age groups. In some cases, the dentist may specifically recommend these braces if the teeth require extensive realignment.

Unlike clear plastic braces, traditional braces are fixed and must be worn all the time. The patient is required to visit the dentist’s office about twice a month to monitor the condition and tighten any loose brackets or wires.

Orthodontic Retainers

Retainers are orthodontic devices made with plastic and metal wire. These are designed to hold the patient’s teeth in their new position once the braces have been taken off. The gums and bone need time to adjust around the new position of teeth, and retainers enable this process to occur smoothly. Retainers will have to be worn in case of all types of braces. The time period for which the retainers must be worn can vary, depending on the extent of correction.
