Braces | Cosmetic Dentistry | Palm Springs Palm Desert DentalMouth is a vital part of the facial aesthetics, and the shape of the teeth determines to a large extent how the mouth appears in relation to the rest of the face. If a teen or an adult is bothered by the appearance of misaligned, uneven, or overcrowded teeth, the condition can be corrected permanently with braces. A cosmetic dentist may offer both traditional metal braces and advanced clear plastic braces to improve the alignment of teeth.

Studio Dentistry, led by the highly experienced dentist Dr. Rob Strain, provides innovative ‘invisible’ braces solution to help patients achieve the desired shape of teeth without making the treatment process obviously visible or uncomfortable. Dr. Strain’s dental office receives patients from Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, and surrounding communities.

Clear Correct Aligners

Dr. Strain is one of the leading cosmetic dentists to provide Clear Correct aligners to his patients as a certified provider. Clear Correct treatment involves the use of a series of clear trays that will gradually shift the teeth in the required position. Unsightly gaps between the teeth, misalignment of teeth, and overcrowding can be eliminated with this treatment. Because of the enhanced effectiveness of Clear Correct aligners, Dr. Strain has chosen this treatment for his patients over other options.

Advantages

Some patients may require mid-course modification to the original treatment plan, depending on how the teeth are repositioning or according to the patient’s changed aesthetic preferences. Such mid-course changes are possible with Clear Correct treatment, and Dr. Strain will normally provide them without any extra cost to the patient.

Another advantage with Clear Correct is that Dr. Strain’s dental office has a special arrangement with the manufacturer to obtain these aligners at a more affordable cost. The savings made in this process are passed on to the patient in terms of lower cost of treatment. The online communication system of Clear Correct is highly efficient and helps to ensure that the treatment is on the right track.

Patients interested in braces treatment have an opportunity to receive clear braces solution from Dr. Strain, who has more than 30 years of experience in the field. Dr. Strain’s practice, Studio Dentistry, provides Clear Correct treatment to patients in Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, and other locations.

Key Aspects of the Treatment

Clear Correct braces treatment involves four phases. In each phase, the patient will receive a new, custom crafted set of aligners that they will have to wear for three weeks. The dentist can exercise better flexibility and control with the time gap available after each phase. Clear Correct aligners should be worn at all times, except when eating or drinking, or cleaning the teeth.

Patients choose Clear Correct because the aligners are not only inconspicuous, but also very comfortable on the teeth and gums. The everyday routine of the patient will not be altered with this procedure. As the treatment progresses, the patient will be able to notice improvement in the shape and alignment of teeth, and eventually have the smile they have long desired.

Dental Implants | Cosmetic Dentistry | Palm Springs Palm Desert DentalDental implants represent one of the most significant restorative solutions in dentistry to replace one or more missing teeth. Full form and function of the missing tooth can be restored most effectively and permanently with an implant. However, the implant procedure is complex, and patients who need this treatment should choose an experienced cosmetic dentist.

Dr. Rob Strain has more than three decades of experience and insight in advanced dental procedures. Dr. Strain’s state of the art dental office is equipped to provide cutting edge procedures, including dental implants. He receives patients from Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, and surrounding communities.

What are Dental Implants?

A dental implant, clinically called an endosseous fixture, is designed to replace the complete tooth structure from root to crown with a goal to restore full oral form and function. Crowns, bridges and dentures can perform as the next best solution to natural teeth when they are supported by implants. With a high success rate and long-term sustainability, implants have emerged as the most dependable replacement to missing teeth in dentistry.

The implant is similar to a small screw made from titanium or titanium alloy that acts as an artificial tooth root. Once it has been embedded surgically in the targeted area of the jaw, the implant post will fuse with the natural bone tissue through osseointegration process. As a result, the implant becomes a part of the natural mouth anatomy, and provides equivalent stability and security to a healthy tooth root. Custom created crowns are then attached to the implants through abutments.

Single or Multiple Implants

Depending on the patient’s needs, the cosmetic dentist will provide single or multiple implants. A single implant is used to replace a single missing tooth by securing a dental crown. The advantage with implants over dental bridges is that it does not require support from adjacent healthy teeth and does not compromise those teeth in any way.

If the patient has several missing teeth, multiple implants may be used to secure multiple crowns or a dental bridge. Multiple implants may also be used strategically to secure dentures firmly on the lower arch, upper arch, or both. In some cases, mini implants may also be used if the jaw bone is insufficient to support a full implant. Dr. Strain’s dental office provides implants to patients in Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, and nearby areas.

Procedure

The dentist will begin the surgical implantation procedure by creating an opening in the gum and a space in the jaw to insert the implant post. The post will be placed in a precise location where the natural tooth root originally existed. An additive will be used to secure the post to promote bone growth.

Thereafter, the dentist will allow a gap of three to six months for the process of osseointegration to take place. During this period, the natural fusing of the titanium implant post will occur with the jawbone tissue to build a stable, sustainable foundation to restore the missing tooth.
